Countdown: Shop, so you don’t drop
Do the food and beverage shopping for an event as far in advance as possible. Most beverages will keep for several weeks if not longer, so decide what you’ll be serving and shop a couple of weeks in advance, then be sure to store it appropriately until the party. Dry goods, canned goods and pantry items can be shopped for a week or two in advance. Buy meat and produce the day before the party, and save the fish buying for party day. Don’t forget the candles while you’re out and about.
